I am a was.

I am a was, a what-if, a should-be,
An if-only-I-were-to-then-maybe-I-could-be.
Age,
Health.
The demise of stealth –
I have fled from myself.

Time hides my insanity
Deep within my vanity.
The corners in my mind provide solidarity.

I am a was, for what is inside me
cannot be so easily hidden behind me.
